We sometimes are guilty of speaking industry jargon instead of plain English. If any term or word we've used is not clear, we hope this quick glossary will help. Even if you choose not to use FunRent, these terms will put you on belter footing if you deal with another vendor.
Adult Supervision. We use this term to describe the supervision of the inflatable ride while kids are using it. We realize there are a number of teenagers who can adequately supervise the equipment, but following federal safety guidelines requires the supervisor to be an adult.
Backyard. This term is used generically to refer to any small outdoor event such as a backyard party. It covers the front yard and side yard as well.
Artist. The term artist refers to a professional that uses his or here skills to create something interesting for your guests. Artists include airbrush artists, face painters, balloon artists, and caricature artists.
Better Business Bureau. Refers to the Better Business Bureau of Alaska, Oregon, and Western
Washington. FunRent is an accredited member and is rated A+.
Bounce House. We use the term bounce house to describe our single unit inflatable houses that are used exclusively for bouncing. Some people refer to them as bouncers, jumpers, moonwalks, and castles. We rent them all.
Carnival Game. Refers to a smaller, non-inflatable game that typically uses bean bags, rings, dice, and other such accessories to play. Prizes are usually given for a winning play.
Castle. Same as bounce house but specifically refers to a theme designed as a castle.
Circuit. This is a separate electrical feed directly from your circuit breakers. A circuit can and usually does have multiple electrical outlets. However, when refer to a "separate electrical circuit", it means we can only use one of the multiple outlets on a given circuit.
Combo. A combo is simply a bounce house with either a slide or obstacle course built into it. Some units have both obstacles and a slide.
Delivery. Our bringing the equipment to your location. Our free delivery area covers all of Seattle/Eastside area including Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville, Duvall, Carnation, Monroe, Everett, Edmonds, Shoreline, SeaTac, Burien, Tukwila, Renton, Kent, Lake Forest Park
, Mountlake
Terrace, Brier, Lynnwood, Issaquah, Sammamish, Fall City, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Preston, Des Moines, and more.
For areas including Marysville, Arlington, Mt. Vernon, Federal Way, Tacoma, Lakewood, Olympia, Lacey, Puyallup, South Hill, Auburn, Enumclaw, Black Diamond, Covington, Ravensdale, and most of the rest of Puget Sound, there is a delivery charge that we will quote you right up front. For larger events, we deliver to all of Washington state.
Deposit. Same as prepayment. The amount required at booking to secure your equipment reservation. Typically either 50% or 100% of the invoice total.
Electronic Game. This is any of a family of non-inflatable games that require some electricity. Typical the electrical requirements are quite small and used to provide electronic scoring or run a small fan.
Entertainer. For us, an entertainers is a DJ, clown, vested entertainer, or game leader. Clowns and vested entertainers can provide light entertainment, balloon art, and face painting.
Event. The party, carnival, field day, picnic, celebration, or other activity that gives rise to the need for our services, party rental, game rental, or inflatable rental.
Festival Rentals, LLC. This is the legal entity that does business as FunRent. Festival Rentals, LLC is registered with the State of Washington and both FunRent and Fun Rentals are registered trade names.
Fun Foods. Cotton candy, popcorn, sno cones, pretzels, churros, nachos, and hot dogs.
Game. Refers to items available from us such as carnival games, sports games, interactive games and inflatable games.
Insurance Certificate. A document issued by an insurance company that provides evidence of insurance as well as lists any additional insured parties.
Inflatable Ride. These are any of our inflatables including bounce houses, castle, jumpers, moonwalks, slides, obstacle courses, interactive games, and sports games.
Interactive Game. Usually an inflatable game (but not always) where two or more participants compete at a time. Includes items like, bungee run, speed pitch, bungee bull, climbing mountain, giant basketball, golf, human foosball, jacob's ladder, jousting, robo surfer, sumo, and others.
Jumper. Another name for a bounce house.
Moonwalk. Another name for a bounce house.
Party. Any celebration, large or small.
Party Rental. This what we do. We rent inflatables and more to provide fun and excitement for your party.
Prepayment. Same as deposit. The amount required at booking to secure your equipment reservation. Typically either 50% or 100% of the invoice total.
Rental Agreement. The contract between FunRent and its clients.
Risk Manager. The person within the client's organization responsible for mitigating risks and managing insurance requirements.
Sports Game. Any game including inflatable games that have a sports theme and typically involve some level of competition.
Staff. Used generically to identify FunRent employee who provide supervision for the inflatable rides for a fee.
Tether. The way the equipment is secured to the ground or other places to ensure it does not flip over or move significantly during use. Sandbags are used on hard surfaces and stakes are used on grass.
